When it comes to trucks, the midsize Honda Ridgeline is a distinctive model. Unlike others on the market with a traditional body-on-frame design, the Ridgeline is built more like a crossover SUV with its unibody construction and independent rear suspension. This unique design offers the Ridgeline enhanced comfort and interior space. If a truly unique truck is what you've been looking for, the new Ridgeline from Honda is a great choice.

Trims
The Honda Ridgeline is available in four trim levels: Sport, RTL, TrailSport, and Black Edition.

Sport: Being the base trim, the Sport comes outfitted with a surprising amount of tech. There's a LED headlights, lights in the truck bed, a nine-inch touchscreen, a seven-speaker sound system, and much more.

RTL: The RTL builds on the Sports design by adding even more creature comforts to the mix. These features include a noise-reducing front windshield, heated mirrors, a sunroof, a power-sliding rear window, and heated front seats.

TrailSport: As an off-road centric trim, the TrailSport Upgrades upon the RTL design with all-terrain tires, an ff-road-tuned suspension, an underbody skid plate, and a navigation system.

Black Edition: As the highest trim, the Black Edition features the same amenities as the TrailSport minus its off-road upgrades and special synthetic upholstery. Unique to this model are features such as black leather interior with red accents, an upgraded sound system, a household-style power outlet in the bed, and heated rear seats.

Design
At first, the exterior of the Ridgeline seems like nothing special as it offers a standard design, a 5.3-foot bed, and 34 cubic feet of cargo space. But take another look, and you'll find a locking, weather-tight in-bed trunk located below the bed's floor with a 7.3-cubic-foot capacity.
The cabin is also quite a memorable, offering class-leading comfort and practicality. The Ridgeline offers a spacious back seat with 60/40 rear split seats, fold-down armrests on both front seats, and in higher trims, driver's seat memory settings.
Performance
A single powertrain is offered for the Ridgeline model - a 3.5-liter V6. The powertrain produces 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque and uses a nine-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive. With this much power under the hood, the Ridgeline can tow a maximum of 5,000 pounds and haul upwards of 1,600 pounds.
After testing, the EPA found the Ridgeline fuel efficient. In the city, it averages around 18 mpg, and on the highway, it averages about 24 mpg. That's 21 mpg combined.

Technology
Installed in every Ridgeline is an eight-inch touchscreen that features a physical volume knob and more accessible screen icons. Also available is Apple CarPlay/Android Auto capability and an updated seven-speaker sound system. In higher trims, models can be equipped with an in-bed audio system, a navigation system, and heated rear seats.
Safety Features
A host of driver assist technology is offered in every Ridgeline model. Coming standard are safety features such as:
- Adaptive cruise control (adjusts speed to maintain a constant distance between the vehicle and the car in front)
- Lane keeping assistance (steers the Ridgeline back into its lane if it begins to drift over the lane marker)
- Forward collision mitigation (warns you of an impending collision and applies the brakes in certain scenarios)
- Blind-spot warning (alerts you if a vehicle in the next lane over is in your blind spot)
